For Aviators

Tradition - Responsibility - Mastery

This course exists to help sharpen the mindset and professional edge of today’s aviators through stories, concepts, and mental tools—keeping us grounded in tradition while navigating an evolving and increasingly automated world.

Pilots today are facing a strange new reality—flying smarter tech with resulting threat of softer minds. We are at a tipping point where tradition, personal resilience, and mental discipline are essential to remain competent and confident in the cockpit. This course brings back core professionalism as a mindset. This develops pride in the craft and the responsibility that comes with true authority, in the truest sense of the word. It’s about building modern aviators who think clearly, act decisively, and carry the weight of the role with honour.

About

Iron Oak Aviation

Kris Sawatzky founded Iron Oak Aviation Incorporated in 2023 and created the course ‘Professional Development for Aviators’ out of respect for aviation and a sense of obligation. With over 30 years of fixed-wing experience in Medevac, Corporate, and Legacy Airline operations—and holding a commercial helicopter license—Kris brings a perspective that goes beyond technical skill. From 777 Cat III autolands to mountainous terrain helicopter landings on Night Vision Goggles, his flying reflects both the precision of airline operations and the adaptability of rotor-wing missions. This course grew from a lifetime of learning, leading, and listening. Shaped by personal experience and the shared wisdom of fellow aviators across generations, ‘Professional Development for Aviators’ invites pilots to explore leadership rooted in responsibility, resilience, and deep respect for the profession.
